SwarmTex is intended to be a swarm tactics hub for the Northrop Grumman swarm ecosystem, as part of the DARPA OFFSET program. We will release software, APIs/documentation, and media. Our current focus is developing our swarm ecosystem and providing supporting material to businesses and universities that are proposing to OFFSET Sprinter opportunities. As our tools mature, we will use SwarmTex to release materials to the general public so that the community can innovate new swarm tactics, too.

OFFSET (OFFensive Swarm-Enabled Tactics) is a DARPA program focused on swarm tactic innovation using over 250 combined platforms of unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) and unmanned ground systems (UGSs). As a Swarm Systems Integrator for OFFSET, we are developing a virtual game environment and physical robotics testbed with field experiments about every 6 months.

This swarming ecosystem is being developed by Northrop Grumman as part of the DARPA OFFSET program. Swarm Sprinters (e.g., other businesses & universities) will use our technologies to create tactics and enhance the testbeds.

There are several ways to get involved. To begin fostering a community, we opened a SwarmTex Subreddit. We will use this moderated forum to post news and updates, help with troubleshooting our software tools and APIs as they are released, and provide a place for the community to talk about platforms and novel swarm tactics. The SwarmTex Subreddit is available here.

You may also participate in SwarmTex by becoming an OFFSET Sprinter. To submit a Sprinter proposal, please respond to OFFSET Sprinter Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs) as they become available via FedBizOpps. If you are responding to one of these BAAs, please contact us to integrate with our swarm ecosystem.
